Nearly 55% of the Afghan population faces extreme levels of hunger. 3 million Afghan people are internally displaced. Since January 2021, the last surge of violence has caused 600,000 people to flee their homes.
Just imagine having to take whatever you THINK is of value just to provide food for your family. Just imagine that your child who is supposed to be in kindergarten or Grade 1 now has to work more than 12 hours a day just to survive. Millions of Afghan families need us. The children of Afghanistan need us and time is running out.
$3.4 Billion (77%) of the $4.4 billion required to deliver humanitarian assistance in 2022 for Afghanistan remains UNFUNDED.
June 22, 2022- A powerful earthquake struck a rural, mountainous region of eastern Afghanistan early Wednesday, killing 1,000 people and injuring 1,500 more in one of the deadliest quakes in decades, the state-run news agency reported. Officials warned that the already grim death toll may still rise.
